Beloved son, grandson, husband, father, and brother, Joshua was intensely devoted to his Lord, Jesus Christ, right up to the untimely end of his remarkable life. A beautiful person inside and out, Josh touched the hearts of everyone he met. One was never the same after knowing him.

Joshua gave his all to all of his endeavors. Whether a star performer at his performing arts Marquette Junior High School, in St. Louis, or the Martin High School mascot in Arlington (1992-93), Josh gave it all he had. In his body building career, he won numerous awards for his awesome physique and posing routines, including first place, "Mr. Teen Texas"; third place, Collegiate Junior Nationals (1994); second place, 1998 NPC Armed Forces; first place, NPC 1999 Southwest USA Bodybuilding Championships; and top 10, 1996 NPC Nationals, to name just a few. Joshua was well known for his award-winning expertise as a choreographer of competitive bodybuilding posing routines, composed for him and others in that realm. He later purchased and operated a sports nutritional store, The Maxx, in Arlington.

After graduating from Martin High School, Joshua entered the U.S. Air Force. He excelled as flight leader and became a certified EMT in the medical corps. After completing seven years of active duty, he recently received his honorable discharge from Carswell Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth.

Joshua and Barbie Donohoe met in high school in 1994, and shared their interest in bodybuilding together. They were married Feb. 14, 1996, in Del Rio. They were blessed with their son, Jacob "Coby" Gabriel Todd, on Oct. 13, 1998. They dedicated their lives and their son, Coby, to the Lord Jesus and became intensely involved in Christian ministry at Arlington Christian Church. Joshua had recently decided to dedicate his life to being a full-time youth minister and was about to begin his education in a Christian college, and later, seminary. He was already a youth leader at his church and was loved by all.

Joshua was a wonderful son to his adoring parents, Bruce and Terry Todd, and his grandparents. He was the sunshine of their lives. His sisters, Charity Crowson and Angel Matthews; his brother, James Todd; and cousins, aunts and uncles were his biggest fans and he will be sorely missed. He leaves a gaping wound in their lives that can’t be filled by anyone else. It was a privilege to have had a part in Joshua’s brief life and hopefully he knows what a profound mark he has left on the world. He always hoped to make a positive difference to those around him, and in that he has succeeded.

May Joshua rest in the bosom of his beloved Lord Jesus for evermore. We know we will see him again soon in Glory. Praise Jesus…

Dear Friends,

I've never lost a child or a husband but I have experienced the lost of a sister. Our family members are irreplaceable and when they leave us we are left feeling abandoned and so sad.

My prayers for you all is that God be merciful and comfort you. That with time He will heal your hearts and you'll be able to move on thru each day not forgetting because you'll never forget. But live with the knowledge that you'll see him again some day. That God bring peace to you soon. Knowing where Josh is brings peace to me. I didn't know Josh well but I know that he loved his family by the way he talked when I had the opportunity to be in his presence. God bless you all. I will fervently pray for your family!

Your friends,

Michael & Tammy Haskins

My wife, Wanda and I convey our sincere and deepest sympathies to the Joshua Daniel Todd family. I am a minister of Concord Christian Church, Crocker, MO, for 44 years. Joshua's obituary was sent to us by my wife's dear cousins, Karen and Ray Cogburn, Deleon, Tx. I'm doing Todd family research and writing a book on "The Todd Ancestor Stories." Joshua was one amazing Christian young man. What was the cause of his death? Our hearts and prayers go out to you all, his dear loving family. I believe I have ancestry information on your Todds. Appreciate hearing from you anytime. God bless and comfort you all. Love and Prayers to you all,

Lee and Wanda Todd
