I stumbled across this obituary by happenstance and I can't begin to tell you how deeply saddened I am to hear about Jeannine's passing. As I read through it, I realized that the time that I knew her was a very small slice of her life and that there was so much more to her that I never got to know or see. However, I knew her at a very formative time of my life. I dated her daughter for three years and while I did she welcomed me as part of her family. As I spent time with and around her, there was no doubt of the love she had for her children. At that time she was a single mom working insanely hard to support her kids. I remember she took a second job delivering the Fort Worth Star telegram and I would work with her to help her get her route done. We would both get up at 3am after working another job. Drunk from tiredness, we enjoyed a lot of laughs and good times doing that miserable job. She always seemed to find a way to smile and laugh even when she was struggling. She introduced me to Bob Seager and the Silver Bullet Band, I am forever indebted to her for that. There isn't a time that I hear "Against the Wind" that I don't think about that time of my life. I tried to stay in touch, but life happens. It's hard to believe that the last time I saw any of the family Jeanine was younger than I am now. Rachel, Robin, Marshall, and Skipper, please know that I am deeply sorry for your loss and although I haven't talked to any of you in over two decades, y'all are in my thoughts frequently. Your Mom was an incredible person and the impact she had on the world was a positive one. For me, as I transitioned from a kid to a young man, she taught me just how important resiliency, a positive attitude, and hard work are. I will always remember her fondly and am so appreciative of the little time that I got to be around her.
