He was born May 26, 1977, in Grand Island, Neb. From Nebraska the family moved to Oklahoma in 1988 and settled in Euless in 1989, where he attended Harwood Junior High School and graduated from Trinity High School, class of 1995. Following graduation, Kyle enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1995.
He was stationed at Scoffield Barracks, Hawaii, until 1999. From there, he was stationed at the Yakima Training Center in Yakima, Wash., where he met and married the love of his life, Jennifer Giles, in October 2001. To this union, three beautiful sons were born, twins Tegan and Kaden, 2 1/2, and one-year-old Zane.
He was transferred to Camp Greeves, Korea, in February 2004 and was then deployed in August to Camp Manhattan in Al Habbaniyah, Iraq.
Kyle loved life and was a very caring, giving and loving son, husband, father, brother and friend. His family's happiness and well-being were very important to Kyle. He treasured the time he shared with his three sons, his wife and all his family, especially his cousins, Courtney, Danielle and Ali.
Kyle never knew a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He took great pride in serving his country and was honored and proud to wear the uniform.

The pride and sadness I have for you, Kyle, are beyond words. I was your teacher, and you were light in each of my days. Your positivity never wavered. You respectfully called me Rico, as I reminded you of a particular someone. Your smile is in my view this moment, years later. I mourn you, I salute you, I celebrate you! Thank you for your presence in my life. It was all too brief. I join all of those who thank you. You quite literally gave us everything.

This is the first time I've written in. I've tried a time or two but it either hurt too bad or I just could'nt seem to find the words. Honestly, it's still more difficult then I imagined it would be, given the time. Almost five years now and I still greedily want time to go back and correct the wrong that took place when you were stolen away. I wish this mostly for your sons. And as a parent, I wish it could be hastily done so as not to have seen one tear fall from your mothers eyes from such a devastating
loss. Your family misses you. Your friends miss you. I miss you. I'm sending a picture to share the light of you that still shines and helps keep you close to us all. (And I don't mean the light comin from that big ole pumpkin head)LOL
Much Love to you Kyle.

Life is like a train ride. We get on. We ride. We get off. We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy, some will result in profound sorrow.
When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents!
Sadly, this is far from the truth.
Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence.
There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us, in turn.
These people are our brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, whom we will learn to love, and cherish.
Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will just go merrily along.
Others, will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey.
Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off….
Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarcely leave a sign that they ever travelled along with you or ever crossed your path…
We will sometimes be upset that some passengers whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own.
Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek them out anyway.
Nevertheless, once sought out and found, we may not even be able to sit next to them because that seat will already be taken.
That’s okay …everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks and goodbyes.
We must strive to make the best of it… no matter what...
We must constantly strive to understand our travel companions and look for the best in everyone.
Remember that at any moment during our journey, any one of our travel companions can have a weak moment and be in need of our help.
We too may vacillate or hesitate, even trip… hopefully we can count on someone being there to be supportive and understanding…
The bigger mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come.
Neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop.
Not even those sitting in the seat next to us.
Personally, I know I’ll be sad to make my final stop…. I’m sure of it!
My separation from all those friends and acquaintances I made during the train ride will be painful. Leaving all those I’m close to will be a sad thing. But then again, I’m certain that one day I’ll get to the main station only to meet up with everyone else. They’ll all be carrying their baggage… most of which they didn’t have when they first got on this train.
I’ll be glad to see them again. I’ll also be glad to have contributed to their baggage… and to have enriched their lives, just as much as they will have contributed to my baggage and enriched my life.
We’re all on this train ride together. Above all, we should all try to strive to make the ride as pleasant and memorable as we can, right up until we each make the final stop and leave the train for the last time.
All aboard!
Safe journey!!
BON VOYAGE!

In Memory of Kyle ~ (Debra Estep)
December 5, 2008
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Kyle, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Kyle,
Well, I started out this Thanksgiving morning crying in front of the tv watching some of the soldiers coming home from the war and hugging their families. I know how thankful they are today. I know that everyone is missing you today, like everyday. I am so Thankful today that I, and so many others, had the opportunity to know someone like you. I am thankful for your family and mine. We all love you and are thinking of you today.

I know i was only your sister inlaw but words cannot express the joy you brought into my life. You were the brother i never had. It's sad to think how little time we had but i'm glad i share the earth with your family still. I cared for you and your family very much though i never spent as much time as i could have. I'm almost fifteen now a lot older yet still little i suppose. The veterens day assembly is coming november 9th but i think i'll stay home. It hurts to much to see your smile on the screen. I want to shout out all the things they're simply typed biography cannot capture. The boys look more alike you every day i'm sure but i don't get to see them much. I talk to Jenn sometimes. Lacey has her first baby boy Tristan a year ago and is again pregnant as is Amanda. I'm proud of them but i'm hurt i'm still little and immature. I miss playing videogames and getting chased with sprinklers by you. Thank You for being whoever i needed when i needed it. I love you still. My heart is out to Keith, Diane, and Kristi. I thank them to for being so nice to me even though we didn't get much time. I'm sure i'll write again.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

It seems like it was only yesterday, that you were here making us laugh. I think about you and worry about your boys alot. I wish I could take away the heart ache your family feels when they think of you. I know this weekend is especially hard. You are still loved by many back here in Washington. They miss the good natured guy that always had a smile to share. We still talk about you alot out at YTC. You will always be remembered. You will always be my friend.

My precious son, Wow it has been a while since I signed you book, it's not that I don't care or that I don't have time, it still just hurts so much. They say time heals, I'd like to know who "they" are. I miss your smile, your voice and the comfort of knowing you always had my back. Your son's are such a joy, you would be so proud of them. They are so full of life and laughter, I know they have your heart, they are caring, giving, and loving young men, Jen has done you well. My heart aches for her as I know she struggles each day without you. I wish I could take all her pain away, but life doesn't work that way. We are living each day full of hope for tomorrow and know that you are always with us, guiding us and giving us the strength we need. Rest in peace my son, Always and Forever, Love your mom

To the Family of Kyle. My name is Ryan Eggers I live in Lincoln Nebraska and I am a contractor working for Brown and Root at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. I saw Kyle and Captain Dan Eggers names and pictures in the Army Times about 2 years ago and I was saddened to read about it. I did not know Kyle or Dan personally but they were both Eggers. I am the son of CLiff and Sandra Eggers originally from Sioux Falls and Grandson to Betty Eggers of Renner South Dakota. I myself was born in Sioux Falls in 1971 and I was stationed as a Marine at Kaneohe Bay also on Oahu Hawaii. I am curious if we share the same family. Again I am deeply saddened at Kyles loss. Well Kyle I just returned from my leave. I have been here for 6 months this time and still have probably nine to go. I still think of our wonderful friendship in Yakima with the gang. I can't say it has been any easier on this 3rd tour, but I know you are looking after me. I send my deepest regrets to your wonderful family once again and I hope you can look after those we have sent your way recently. I miss you and John to talk to so keep things straight up there. Kyle,
You are gone from us here on earth, but you are forever in our hearts and always on our minds. I would give anything to have you back here with us, for your family, your wife, and sons. I know you are with our Father as he has greater plans for you. I just wish I could understand why. As we all go about our busy lives...you are NEVER forgotten. I miss you.
