Heard about his passing last summer and just got around to finding this.

I took Dr. Schkade's Economics of Information Technology course to complete my MSIS back around 1997. He encouraged us to challenge the conventions and thinking of the authors of the research we read, which made for an excellent learning experience.

I will always be grateful to him for the endorsement that led to the lecturer position in Systems Analysis & Design at UT Arlington.

I will fondly remember Schkade as dedicated educator and a consummate gentleman.

I will always remember Schkade fondly, first as a kind neighbor in my youth, and later as a friend and fellow Reiki practitioner. I so enjoyed the Urantia quotes he would regularly email. Love to him and to his family!

Just learned today of his passing. I had one class taught by him and was an excellent teacher and still remember him fondly. For one reason or another,I did not get a chance to visit him since I graduated from UTA. May his soul rest in peace.

I had many lovely and meaningful conversations with Scotty over the years. I knew him as a devoted supporter of The Urantia Book Fellowship, and as the Fellowship's Director, I'm deeply grateful to have had the chance to get to know him. He inspired me deeply every time we spoke.

To him I say, "Thank Scotty, God's speed faithful brother and fellow server of the circles. I'll miss you! Until next we meet, farewell!"

As a young man in college, I remember well when I ended up in Dr. Schkade's statistics class at UTA. Here I was in one of business school's most feared classes, and the teacher was head of the department, AND he wrote the book! Surely I would fail.
My fears quickly subsided though as Dr. Schkade had a unique way of taking abstract and complex equations and relating them to real world applications. It made all the difference, and it helped me turn the corner for the rest of my education. He truly loved what he did and it showed.
I never got to thank you personally Dr. Schkade, so "Thank You", and rest in peace.
