Maggie Cooper Obituary

Maggie M. Holt Cooper, 99, a retired retail worker for Myer's Department Store, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 at her home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday Dec. 28, at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Maggie was longtime member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church. She was a past member of the Genealogy Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose Louis Cooper; daughter, Sue Luce' two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers; one sister; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Craig Cooper, James Samuel Jr., Curtis Samuel, Tim Youngblood, Lanny Price and Steve Cooper.

Survivors: Children, Clifford Cooper and his wife, Margaret, Donald A. Cooper and his wife, Helen, Dovie Hyatt, Carolyn Youngblood and her husband, Olan and Mertie Groves and her husband, Royce; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of friends.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Maggie's death. She was a wonderful woman that I enjoyed visiting with - sadly only a few times. Her brother Garland H. Holt was my grandfather. For her memories I hope somemone continues her genealogy work. I will share my information with that person.
