Margaret "Peggy" Irene MacNiven Martin, 77, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at home in Fort Worth. Funeral: Noon Tuesday in Baumgardner Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: 2:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born March 23, 1935, in Canton, Mass., to the late Margaret E. Spurr MacNiven and Leslie D. MacNiven. She was married to Richard J. Martin on Jan. 16, 1965, in Chicago, Ill. They lived in Boston, Mass., and Danville, Ill., before settling down in Texas. Peggy enjoyed traveling to Branson with her husband, Rich, as well as spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts with the children. Her favorite pastime was knitting. She always put her family before herself. She was loved dearly by all who were fortunate to be in her life. She will be missed deeply. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard J. Martin Jr. Survivors: Husband, Richard Martin Sr. of Texas; son, Kerry Martin and wife, Amy; daughters, Linda Viens and her husband, Rick, of New Hampshire, Shea Tyrone and her husband, Stephen, of Texas, Jill Shaw and her husband, Gene, of Indiana, Veronica and her husband, Steve, of Illinois and Laurel Barry and her husband, Walley, of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

the holidays have come and gone, we all went to Ronnies for thanksgiving, we had the best time, just being together was amazing. We missed you being there, but knew you were there in spirit. Oh Mom, we (Veronica and your children) were remembering the smell of your foundation makeup and Shea remembered it was Revlon Creamy Ivory Touch and Glow. So many warm and loving memories. I remember taking your Revlon Creamy Ivory foundation to school one day in the 2nd grade, and smearing it all over my body for a suntan, of all things, lol. Mrs. Clark quickly pulled me to the side and we called you to come get me, as I was covered all over with your Revlon Creamy Ivory foundation makeup. You have ALWAYS inspired all of of us. You have always been the biggest roll model in the lives of all six (6) of us children on earth. You are so amazing and so brillian and so strong. That is why we still ache for you. We will carry you in our hearts always and we will know your spirit is with us, protecting us, and still guiding us, just as you always have. I love you Mumma. We all adore you, and always will.
