Marge Menefee, 86, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, Dr. William Longsworth officiating. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, 800 W. Fifth St., Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Marguerite Ellen Sheeler Menefee was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Coulterville, Ill., to Charles and Margaret Sheeler. Marge worked for a life insurance company. She loved playing slot machines and ballroom dancing with her companion of 25 years, George Peterson, who says she dragged him to Texas from Chicago. She loved her church, idolized George and her family and was obsessed with her cats. Marge was a member of First United Methodist Church and a devoted Christian. Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Robert Samuel Menefee and Freddy Miles; and her brother, Frank Sheeler. Survivors: Loving companion, George Peterson; daughters, Ronna Tankersley and Bobbie Menefee; sisters, Helen Hood and Joann Hurst; brothers, Bud Sheeler and Tommy Sheeler; grandchildren, Audrey Tankersley, Amelia Menefee, Mason Menefee and Blake Tankersley.
