Arlington, Texas - Mary Jane Wright, 96, passed away September 26, 2023, in Arlington, Texas. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 3rd at 10:00 am at Wade Funeral Home located at 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013 with Pastor Chris Campbell officiating from First Presbyterian Church in Arlington. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack Wright, at Shiloh Park Cemetery in Dayton Ohio.
In lieu of flowers Memorial gifts may be made to First Presbyterian Church at 1200 S. Collins St., Arlington, Texas 76010.
Mary Jane was born June 26, 1927, in Frankfort, Ohio to Edward and Nora Carney Carmean. She married Jack Wright on April 22, 1950, and was married for 60 years before his death. She had been a resident of Arlington since 1969. Mary Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a member of Arlington Women's Club, Serendipity, and Compassionate Friends. She also volunteered for over 37 years at Arlington Memorial Hospital in the gift shop. Her hobbies were china painting, Jazzercize and yard work.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her son Edward Wright; and brothers James and George Carmean.
Survivors: daughter Jane Owens and husband James, grandchildren Michael and Marianna Owens; nieces Candace Phillips and husband Norm, Norilee Zimmerman and husband Roger, Nancy Shaffer and husband Greg and numerous nieces and nephews.
