Benbrook, Texas - Michael Tilman Storey, 82, born on October 26, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2025.
After graduating high school, Mike enlisted in the army and was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado for basic training and then served in Panama during the Cuban Missile Crises. Following his three years in the army, he joined the navy where he served for two years as a gunner's mate on the USS Galveston, first in the Mediterranean and then in Vietnam.
Following his five years in the military, Mike attended and graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas with a Master's Degree in Education. He returned to Fort Worth after graduation to be the first and only male elementary school teacher for several years in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Mike was preceded in death by parents, E. F. and Imogene (McVey) Storey.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan; and his brother, Lorin and wife, Martha Storey, of Burleson, Texas.
A visitation will take place from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church - Benbrook, 1015 McKinley St., Benbrook, Texas 76126. A funeral service will be held the following day at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church - Benbrook.

My husband and I met Mike many years ago when he was our daughter's 2nd grade teacher. Our daughter is now 52 years old and spent many years in school with many teachers, having become a pediatric hematologist/oncologist,but Mr. Storey remains her all-time favorite teacher. Both Mike and Susan are very dear to us. Susan, we are so very sorry for your loss.
