Myna Taylor Obituary

Myna Blanche Taylor, 72, of Cisco passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Abilene after a stroke. Service: Was at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, officiated by Dr. Linda Mitchell under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco. Interment: Pisgah Cemetery near Cisco. Myna was born July 17, 1938, in Kermit to Jack Lee Sr. and Blanche Whitlow Kirby. She graduated from Polytechnic High School and received an associate degree as a quality assurance specialist from Richland College in Dallas. She worked as a QA specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense at General Dynamics in Fort Worth. On April 9, 1966, she and William Edward "Bill" Taylor were married at Polytechnic Methodist Church in Fort Worth. They lived in Hurst for 30 years, then retired from General Dynamics and moved to their farm in Nimrod. Myna loved her flowers and bird-watching and enjoyed ceramics, painting and playing bridge and 42 with her wonderful friends. Two brothers, Jackie and Tommy Kirby, preceded her in death. Survivors: Husband, Bill; sons, Richard Paul Taylor and Matthew Wayne Taylor, both of Waxahachie; daughters, Rebecca Jan Gabel and husband, Franklin, of Cleburne and Aleah D'Lorme Powell and husband, Phillip, of Rockwall; and grandchildren, Dillin Graham, Daniel Teilke, Gary Maxwell, Haley Cochran, Hailey Powell, Hannah Powell and Holley Powell.
