Patricia Lansden Young
December 12, 1944 - December 25, 2021
Tyler, Texas - Patricia Lansden Young put on her high heels for the last time and danced into Heaven on Christmas Day, 2021. Patty loved a good party, so we like to think that she made it just in time for a very special one. 2Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day!
Patty grew up in Goree, TX and later in Wichita Falls. Moves to Fayetteville, Dallas, Fort Worth and finally Holly Lake, TX, provided her with a host of memories and friends who mourn her.
She was a champion speller, accomplished artist, cat lover, skateboard enthusiast, talented vocalist, fun-loving friend, mischievous sister, doting grandmother and a superlative mother.
Many men fell under Patty's spell during her lifetime, but she saved the best for last, leaving behind the love of her life, Monroe Parker of Holly Lake.
Patty took great pride in her two daughters, Jill and Natalie, and their families. Bragging on her grandchildren was a favorite hobby.
Left to cherish the memory of loving, caring, wise, beautiful, vivacious Patty are her daughters: Jill Allmand (Michael) and Natalie Kutach (Brent), grandchildren: Preston and Ella Allmand, Campbell Paige Kutach and Caroline Tyer (Matthew), her former partner-in-crime, sister, Shirley Kay Griffin (David), and friend Tonia Parker. Last but not least is Patty's devoted sweetheart, Monroe Parker, who loved and cared for her to the very end.
At Patty's request there will be no memorial service. We offer the following suggestions as fitting ways to remember her: Buy yourself some leopard boots. Dance like no one's watching. Wear red lipstick. Brag on your grandchildren. Crank up the volume. Raise a glass of Chardonnay. Tell a woman that she is beautiful. Call an old friend. Adopt a cat. Love your people.
