Pete Pulido Obituary

Pete Pulido Jr.
February 12, 1938 - November 12, 2021
Arlington, Texas - Pete Pulido Jr. was born on February 12, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas and passed away peacefully at his home in Arlington, Texas on November 12, 2021. One of the seven children of Pedro Pulido Sr. and Dionicia Pulido, Pete was raised with a foundation of strong work ethic and willingness to always help others.
Pete graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1958 and then began pursuing his entrepreneurial ventures starting with Pulido's Trim Shop. Pete made a mark on the city of Fort Worth as a successful restaurateur as one of the founders of Pulido's Mexican restaurants with 14 locations. Pete went on to found and operate Don Pedro's Mexican restaurant in Arlington.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Pulido Sr. and Dionicia Pulido; his siblings, Shannon Pulido, Vincent Pulido, Phillip Pulido, Rudolph "Rudy" Pulido Sr., and Mary Gamez; cousin, George Pulido Sr.; and nephews, Rudolph "Rudy" Pulido Jr., Peter Pulido, and Robert "Robby" Pulido Sr.
Pete is survived by his five daughters, Cynthia "Cindi" Zinda, Christine "Christy" Williams, Elizabeth "Evie" Walker, Lauren Pulido and Katherine "Katie" Dalton, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother, Bobby Pulido, his wife Carol Pulido, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anyone that knew Pete would tell you that he was the best girl dad there ever was. He loved his "baby girls" above all else.
Pete was an avid supporter of TCU and the Dallas Cowboys. Even later in life, Pete continued his work as a craftsman in his work with upholstery and carpentry. Pete loved all animals, raising chickens, horses and pups. Even after retirement, Pete continued experimenting in the kitchen and would share his delicious creations and farm fresh eggs with friends and family.
The family will be hosting a memorial service on Friday November 19, 2021 at 10am at Christ Chapel Bible Church in the sanctuary located at 3701 Birchman Avenue Fort Worth, TX 76107. In lieu of flowers and to honor Pete's love of animals, the family asks that you make donations directly to Saving Hope Animal Rescue.

Pete, Rest in Peace!

And you know, without a doubt, that you made the BEST Tacos al Carbón ever!

We love you!

We miss you, and perhaps when we meet again in Heaven, we will be allowed to enjoy your delicious parillia delights!

Rest in peace until then.

Sorry for your loss. I have a strange question if his family ever reads these. Did he have the mare named Opulent Mirage? I'm just curious. My parents bred her; her nickname was Nugget! I saw that he bred a foal by her. I was just wondering if she is still alive. I pray for peace, mercy, and grace over you and your family.

Pete was a wonderful man that only met walking in the neighborhood. But, he would put out eggs for us to pick up on our walk and we often had great conversations. God bless him and his family.

Uncle Pete, What can I say? Except I will miss you and the way we used to joke. You will be in my heart forever and just a thought away. Love you always.
