Prothro Kornrumpf Obituary

Prothro King Kornrumpf of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away March 8, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. He was 79 years of age. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Bessie Mitchell House, 411 Ball St. in Grapevine. Graveside: Algoma Cemetery in Marshall, Texas, at a later date. Prothro King Kornrumpf, known affectionately by so many as "P.K.," was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Marshall, Texas, to the late W.L. and Gladys Prothro Kornrumpf. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1957, and spent the following four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. P.K. retired from Bell Helicopter Textron after 35 years of service, making many friendships along the way. He married Kathryn Gordon on April 12, 1975; she was the love of his life and his constant travel companion for 35 years until her passing in 2011. P.K. was also preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Avalon Memory Care and ALLSTAR Hospice for taking such wonderful care of their daddy and granddad. They ask that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association to help find a cure for this horrible disease. At the request of the family please contact Kim 817-360-1963 with any questions. Survivors: His loving family, including daughters Kimberly Hicks, Jacquelyn Satriano, Melony Blackburn and husband Robert, all of Fort Worth, and Kara Larkin and husband Paul of Paris, Texas; son, Charles Kornrumpf of Burleson; 10 grandchildren, Brandye Kear, Elijah Hicks, Breana and Lauryn Blackburn, Brandon and Miranda Parks, Jason Parkes and Chase, Abigail, and Gunner Kornrumpf; and two great-granddaughters, Emmerson and Quinnlie Kear. They will all cherish their many memories of him.

Too many good memories of King. He told a hundred stories and all of them were funny. Many inappropriate to post here.He always greeted me saying " I had a mule named Dan, uglyist most stubborn critter I ever knew. How are you doing Dan? " Last time I saw King was in Mary's cafe out on Tintop road outside of Weatherford. Be seeing you soon King

I was wondering just a few days ago how "King" was doing, Sadly I read of his passing today. He was a good friend and co-worker at Bell. Loved listening to his many funny escapades.
