Ray Storey Obituary

Ray Storey Sr., 73, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth with U.S. Navy military honors. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Ray was a greeter at Wedgwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth for three years where he was known as the "Candy Man." He served from 1953 to 1957 in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War. In 1961, Ray became a member of the Carpenters Local Union #1822 and #429. He retired in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Mary Storey, and by seven siblings.
Survivors: Wife, Janice Romo-Storey; mother of his children, Judy Lee Storey; his children, Dottie Murphy and husband, John, Ray Storey Jr. and wife, Lorri, Bobby Allen Storey and wife, Judy, Carl Wayne Storey, and Carla Baker and husband, Weldon; stepchildren, Denise Lopez, Anthony Romo, Matt Romo and Cindy Cox; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, John Storey; sisters, Faye Parkman and Clydie Newberry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
