When sorrow comes into your life find comfort in our Lord and Savior.
I have never been much of a neighbor in all the places I have lived but Dick was special. He always had a minute to ask how I was or where you been. Always a kind word. Dick; you will be sorely missed. dv

Coming from such a large family, it is rare when two brothers become so close as Dick was with my dad. It was this closeness that gave me the opportunity to enjoy Dick's knowledge and humor. Dick was a role model for me during my life. I always admired his balance between work and the love of his family. I really appreciate his support and advise. Dick always spoke very highly of me - clearly more than I deserved.

Dick is now in heaven with his other brother's Don, Dewey, Billy, and Charlie. I'm sure they are still sharing the war stories from the past. He will be missed by all that are left behind.

God Speed Dick.

Grandpa,
You welcomed me into this world as a little baby, you kept me out of trouble while I played in the streets of your neighborhood, you celebrated my achievements in middle school and high school, and you supported me in my decisions as a young adult. You modeled principles of dignity and personal responsibility that have shaped my values. Your actions let me know that you saw great potential in me, and that motivates me to want to fulfill my potential and purpose in this life. Without embellishment, I can truly say that you have given me a solid foundation for life, and have shown me the importance of family and education. I am so grateful that you and Nancy continued to express your love and care for me and gave me an opportunity to do the same before you left this world. I see you as the pillar of strength for our family. I will honor your memory by living the principles you modeled for us. Stern and smart, you grew tender and kind in your old age, and I cherish every laugh, every dinner, every silly face you made to make us smile. The last time I saw you, you threw a penguin at me! I am at peace knowing that you are no longer tired. I love you, Grandpa. Thank you for taking care of our family for so many years. You will be missed dearly. I really cannot believe you are gone.

As a young Child you held my hand and wiped away my tears.
You saw me through some difficult times and watched me grow with the years.
You spoke of love and life and dreams and helped to ease my fears.
I want you to know, my Father, it's admiration and love in my tears.
You helped to inspire and form my life and I will miss you as I would.
But I want you to know, my Father, by example you taught me good.

I saw in your heart and body the fight and through that experience you gave me insight.
It was an honor holding your hand through the night, to dream your dreams and try to make it right.
I knew in my soul what we must do to bring you home for your final flight.
But I want you to know, my Father, you are still my guiding light.

I can see you now coming round the bend, eyes at peace, as your soul shall be.
My message to you, as I help you go, is I love you with all of me.
I want you to know my Father, in this place your soaring free.

Even though not spoken enough, I appreciate all you did do.
Gratitude is all I feel, for having a Father like you.
I hold in my heart your image so clear; it was a gift to see you through.
I want you to know my Father, in my heart you'll be - so true.

Nothing but love and light and peace - my wish for you this day.
I want you to know, my Father, this is what I pray.

Love Kristi
