Freda,Marilyn, Ricky

I was planning to come to the memorial service, but the snow and ice prevents me, as I am terrifed to drive on slick streets, and especially in this top heavy van. Please forgive me. I am thinking of you all. I loved Dick, and continue to love each of you.

I'm a friend of Rick Paddock's from high school in Belton, Missouri, and remember Col. Paddock as a warm and friendly man who was interested in his son's friends.

Freda,

Melinda sent the notice via email. I will be unable to attend on Wed. I am sharing a home with my middle son David, Melinda's ex. Please accept our deepest condolances and prayers. Jay went home in 1990 and Tommy Underwood, my 2d husband, died in Jan 1999. My best to your family at this difficult time.

Aunt Freda and Uncle Dick were very special to me when I was growing up. Freda was my mother's first cousin. I have always admired and respected the calm and pleasant demeanor that Dick maintained in every situation that I ever saw him. I am sad that he is gone, and I wish I had been more attentitve to him in his latter years.
