Robert Warren Obituary

Robert Clinton Warren Jr.
May 30, 1953 - February 28, 2023
Burleson, Texas - Robert Clinton Warren Jr. died Feb. 28, 2023, peacefully in his home. He had spent his final hours asleep with his beloved wife and younger daughter by his side.
Robert previously beat colon cancer, but it returned at stage 4 in early 2022. He battled with chemotherapy as long as he could, then was lovingly cared for by his wife, Patrice, at home in his final months.
Taciturn by nature, Robert had an unexpected sense of humor. He could be fun and charming when you least expected it. He was the family photographer, with boxes and boxes of photos that showcase his artist's eye. Many of those were taken during family vacations, car trips along scenic roads in Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas and Missouri. His most treasured trip was to Yellowstone with his wife. He loved the grandeur and the beauty of the national park.
As a young man, he enjoyed playing hockey and attending Fort Worth Wings games with his wife and friends. He was an avid, lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.
He loved fall and winter, especially Christmas, and tolerated spring for the thunderstorms it brought. However, he had no sense of self-preservation when it came to standing outside to watch them, as if he didn't realize that a 6' 4-1/2" human might be a lightning rod.
Robert was born May 30, 1953, in Fort Worth, the third son of Robert Sr. and (Hettie) Ruth Warren. He was Bobby to his family and was close with his older brothers Paul and Wes. He attended Fort Worth schools, graduating from Arlington Heights High in 1971.
The next year, he met Patrice Allen, who wasn't so sure of this guy at first. But boy, did she change her mind. They were married Dec. 2, 1972, and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Their first daughter, Staci, was born May 1973, followed by a second daughter, Holly, five years later. They lived across the street from the house Robert grew up in before moving to Crowley in 1980. In 1998, they moved to Burleson, settling into a home next door to his mother, Ruth. Robert added a gate to the adjoining fence so everyone could move easily between the homes.
Robert worked more than 30 years at Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation, moving up from a plant worker to serving as Safety and Environmental Manager. He traveled extensively for work, visiting factories in Mexico and across the southwest United States, until he left the company around 2009.
In his later years, Robert turned his attention to his hobbies. He had a thriving eBay store, reselling antique knives. He loved spending time with his family, especially his four spoiled cats.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, his mother and a sister-in-law, Carole Warren. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patrice Warren, of Burleson; daughters, Holly (Ryan) Rusak, of Fort Worth, and Staci Camacho, of Wichita, Kan.; brothers Paul (Kathy) Warren, of Omaha, Neb., and Wes Warren, of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Sofia, Olivia and Garrett Camacho and Emily Henderson; four great-grandchildren; and four beloved cats who miss him.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
