Ruby Marie Floyd RIVER OAKS - Ruby M. Floyd, 83, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, surrounded by family. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Central Christian Church. Ruby was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Upton, Wyo. She married the love of her life, Don Floyd, on July 20, 1952, in Upton, Wyo. Together they shared a marriage of 58 years in River Oaks, Texas, and had three children. She retired from American Life Insurance Co. in 1993, after 26 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, motorhome travel with friends, and family gatherings. More recently, she enjoyed all the activities at the RO Community Center, including exercise class, bowling, playing cards and sharing the jam sessions with her many friends. Her true passion was making memories with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loyal and caring friend to all. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Norris; and husband, Don Floyd. SURVIVORS: Sons, Timothy Floyd and wife, Mary, Terry Floyd and Thressa; daughter, Donna Jones and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Corie Hadder and husband, John Cheek, Jennifer Hawpe and husband, Todd, Kimberly Floyd, Amy Pierce and husband, Brian, and T.J. and fiancee, Stefanie McClain; great-grandchildren, Elijah Smith, Mason Hawpe, and Bryce Hawpe; brothers, Fred Norris and Raymond Norris; and numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
