Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Sandra was very close to her in-laws, and took care of her mother-in-law after the death of her father-in-law. She moved to Bells, to be close to her grandchildren after the death of Bill, in March 2005.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her dog, J.R.
Survivors: Daughter, Rebecca Cushing; son, Tim Cushing; grandson, Andrew; granddaughter, Brooke; nieces, Sunny and Suzzette; and her dog, Lacie.

Sandy was an inspiration to all at the Waterloo Pool with her daily visit to help her keep healthy. Her smile was ever present and I condisered her my friend. She will be missed by me and others who knew her and loved her.

Becky & Tim,
I know what a terrible loss this is for ya'll and how sad this makes you. None of us will ever get over losing a woman as special as your Mom. She made me feel like one of the family from the time I met her and your Dad.

You have to look at the bright side of things, your Mom and Dad are reunited and dancing in heaven, and if Bill has his way, they are listening to Delbert McClinton. They will be looking out for you and the kids. Keeping ya'll safe.

If ya'll need me, you know that I'm only a phone call away.
Love Ya,
De De

Sandy has been a favorite of the staff at Waterloo Pool in Denison where she was one of our "regulars". Her warm smile and kind words were appreciated by everyone. She was an inspiration to the exercise classes and already is greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tim & Becky,
Words can't express my feelings for your loss. I've know your mom as long as I've known y'all. Tim and I have been best friends since we were 4 years old. Mrs. Cushing (because I never did call her Sandy) was like a mom to me. Our old neighborhood (the small little world we all grew up in) was a tight-nit group of familys. Even though we don't see each other very often any more, when we do.... it's like we just pick up where we left off. Tim once told me that's the true definition of best friends, and if a man only has one or two of those in his whole life.... he should feel lucky. Tim, I will always consider you my best friend. You and your family have always been very special people, and I've always considered y'all my extended family. Your mom will be truely missed..... just as we think of your dad when we pass by your old house.

Love Y'all,
Doug & DeAnne Lile

Sandy was my best friend since 1985 when I joined the Quilt Guild. I knew her slightly because our husbands were friends thru their "old cars". I have so many happy memories we made together. Sandy and Bill were good friends and we have missed Bill very much. I have been to see her and talked to her since she moved but missed the closeness we have had all these years. I will miss my dear friend forever.
