October 30, 1943 - June 20, 2022
Fort Worth, Texas - Sandra Lou Sparks - Owens passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, June 20. She was 78.
Family and Friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. She will be laid to rest in Vernon on Friday.
Born in Vernon, Sandy, as she liked to be called, lived most of her life in various towns before settling in Weatherford. She was a nurse practitioner and had earned her Master's degree, working as a school nurse at Snow Heights and Smithfield Elementary Schools before moving up the nurse ladder.
Sandy had everyone around her laughing wherever she was. In her spare time, she loved playing tennis at the local tennis club. She loved her sports especially baseball, knew everything about it, plus basketball, football and then some. If there was a game on, Sandy was watching it!
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Owens, and several siblings.
In addition to her children, Marla Lindquist of Lake Worth and Greg Beaver and his wife, Angela of Hurst, Sandy is survived by many grandchildren and her brother.
