Terry Stack Obituary

Terry J. Stack passed away peacefully Friday, June 14, 2013, at his home after battling COPD and lung cancer. His loving family was by his side. Memorials: Should friends desire, donations may be made to either the Lung Cancer Alliance, http://www.lungcanceralliance.org, or the American Lung Association, http://www.lung.org/donate. Terry was born on April 8, 1933, in London, England. He immigrated with his family to Spokane, Wash., in 1948. In 1951, he began 26 years of service in the United States Air Force. While stationed in England, Terry met Eva Frost, his wife of 61 years. They were married in Bury St. Edmunds, England, on April 26, 1952. Terry loved to fly and moved to Keller in 1977 to fly at Meacham Field. He was a respected flight instructor, FAA flight examiner, and chief pilot flying corporate aircraft. He was called "Mr. Terry" by his numerous foreign students who are flying in all four corners of the world. Terry was an extremely knowledgeable, loving, and caring person, who was always willing to help others. This continues as his request to donate his body to science is fulfilled. We all love him greatly and will miss him as he is soaring to the highest heights with the wind always under his wings. We would like to thank Dr. Heidi Jordan, Dr. Richard Hazen and their staff for the care and treatment provided to Terry. His final days were made more comfortable by Integra Care who provided both home health care and Hospice care. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Eva Stack; his daughter, Theresa Reutlinger and husband, Rick; his son, Trevor "TJ" Stack and wife, Sarah; as well as grandchildren, Kristan, Ian, and Todd Reutlinger, and Alexander and Isabel Stack.

Eva, Theresa, and Trevor, I am so sorry for your loss. Terry was my Chief Pilot when I worked for American Flight Center, as a charter and cargo pilot, back in the early '80's. I got to thinking about him this evening, and was saddened to see that he had passed away when searching for him online. Terry was a "pilots" Chief Pilot. He took those of us who were just starting our flying careers, and prepared us to be successful in moving up the aviation ladder. Terry was an excellent pilot and a great instructor! I always enjoyed flying with him, and also have fond memories of time spent drinking coffee and sitting in the hangar just talking. It was an honor to have known him and pleasure to have worked for him! I am now flying for American Airlines, and will always be grateful for all the training and mentoring I received from Terry.

Eva,Trevor,Theresa.I am so sorry for the loss.I was one of his students at the American Flight centre,in Meacham field then.I had actually been trying to get in touch him and also some of the other people we were with then , only to finally locate this information today about his transition,today,3rd August. Its a pity I was too late.I remember when his airplane kit,for the Glassair arrived in 1981, and we went from the school to help in its movement . I will always remember him in the USAF issue sunglasses. I also remember the stories he told us then about Trevor, and when he stated flying. Trevor, please fly the flag, and we all pray that God will be with you all.Terry was a role model for some of us.I had met Trevor a few times when he dropped by at the American Flight center.I really looked forward to be able to get in touch with Terry after so many years and also Bill Vierowski.I also remember when Terry was doing my CFI/MEI checkride in Fotr-Worth in the Cessna 310 during winter, and we got Icing, and had to land ASAP. I am presently a Captain onthe Boeing 737, with an Airline in Nigeria.Y'all take care.

One of my many memories of Terry was at Mum & Dad's in Horsham, when all hell was breaking loose about what was wrong with the TV and DVD player. Without as word Terry, who had been sitting quietly throughout reading, got up and flicked a switch. Miracle, suddenly we had sound and vision. He smiled in that enigmatic way of his and said "over". A lovely man, lovely memories. Michelle & Trevor Smith
