My deepest sympathy to you, Peggy, and to all of your family in the loss of your Mother. I learned this week through Connie of your Mother's passing. It was a privilege to have known both of your wonderfully talented and kind parents. I so enjoyed the time spent with them and you. Their life stories and their love story are ones for the ages. I know you miss both of them terribly. All the best to you and Bob.

Tineke always struck me as a gentle soul. She displayed such grace, intelligence and wit. Her loving relationship with Leo was so moving, and our thoughts are with her family.

A very young Tineke took me by the hand in a park nearby to the house of my grandparents in Utrecht, where she, her two brothers and her parents also lived before. Her brother Ed would marry my aunt Gerda in 1948, while Tineke already engaged to Leo would marry him in 1947. I was too young to understand such family matters, but 60 years later we got in contact by mail but never met again! After a few years, answering to my mails and birthday wishes became too tireing to them and fell away. But I will still remember her kindness and cherish my memories of her.

Just wishing that Leo and Tineke are reunited now in a poetry heaven, because not being together was something they were not good at. All best and good strength for now. Ronald and Marien, the friends from Gouda, the Netherlands
