Tucson Rodgers Obituary

Tucson Rodgers, 83, a retired home child care provider, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at a Crowley care center. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. No visitation. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to House of Hope, 216 Magnolia, Crowley, Texas 76036. Tucson was born March 18, 1932, in Wichita Falls. She moved to Fort Worth and attended Polytechnic High School. After graduation, she married Lee Rodgers in 1950. She was a homemaker most of her life and was a volunteer at House of Hope in Crowley. She had five children. The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care of Tucson. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Lee Rodgers; parents, AJ Short and Carmen Short; brothers, Gayle Short, AJ Short Jr. and Dortch Short; and sister, Carmen Riddel. Survivors: Sons, Dale Rodgers and Dean Rodgers (Anna); daughters, Pam Satterfield (Rick), Carmen Hileman and Terri Stevenson (Steve); brother, Donald Short; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
