Veronica Hernandez Obituary

Verónica Hernández, 32, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005.

Funeral: English service 7 p.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Another service in Spanish will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: noon Wednesday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.

An El Paso native, our beloved Veronica was educated in Fort Worth, where she graduated in 1990 from Trimble Technical High School. Although she enjoyed a successful 13-year career with Citigroup Corp. in Las Colinas, her focus was on her faith and service to our Creator, Jehovah God.

Vero's beautiful physical presence will be missed, but her joyous spirit and energy will remain with her family, friends and loved ones. Her legacy of love, faith and service will live as an example for us to follow until we see her again.

Survivors: Loving husband, Joe Hernández; grandparents, Lucía "Amá" Garza and Raúl Ruíz Sr.; mother, Elva Ramirez; sister, Diane Elizondo; several uncles, cousins and one niece; and scores of friends.

Joe and Family:

I had the pleasure of meeting Veronica while working at The Associates for 7 years until 2001. I was blessed to count Veronica not only as a co-worker for as a wonderful friend. She was an amazing person always pleasant and fun to deal with. She did an amazing job while making many friends along the way. She will always live in my heart and memory.

I knew Veronica from work. 4 1/2 yrs ago at the onset of the Associates/Citigroup merger, Veronica took me under her wing and helped me to learn what I needed to do and where to go for facility issues. In a time of frustration and confusion, Veronica helped me to find some peace. She was very unselfish and always took the time to help. Since then there wasn't a time in passing when she didn't ask "how is everything, are you doing ok?". She never stopped caring. I will miss her.

Joe & Family:

The shock of Veronica's death is just wearing off and the pain is beginning to set in. I remember staying with her during pioneer school (on the weekend) and we talked and looked at photos and she glowed whenever she spoke about you! I always loved seeing her at conventions and we always missed getting together. I look forward to the time when time won't be an issue. My deepest sympathies to you and everyone in the family. I hate that I can't be there. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Querido Joe:

We are very saddened by your loss. I wanted to share my favorite scripture that has helped us through difficult moments.

Isaiah 41:10 "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness."

We are praying for you Joe, your family and Veronicas. Look forward to the day you welcome her back in paradise.

Joe,

I am so saddened by what has happened. I have very wonderful memories of Veronica's friendship and yours. I remember when she offered to cut my hair and then I ended up with a very bad hair cut. I didn't get mad because she was my friend. I ended up laughing and still laugh when I remember. I will have you in my prayers and may Jehovah sustain you during these moments. I know it might seem unfair, but that is how unfair this world is. That is why our hope is only in God.

Love,
