My Dellis Family -
Wanted you to know that Uncle Dennis and Aunt Wanie were always an important part of my life. CynDee & I were so lucky growing up next door to the Dellis family and of course it was great that your parents were Mom and Dad's best friends. After Mom passed, dropping by their house for a visit was like going "home" for me. My favorite thing about their house was the carport door that was always half open. All you had to do is announce your arrival, reach over and unlock the bottom half. Hardly ever used the front door. They always made me and my family a part of theirs. But, as you know they always made everyone feel welcomed. For years they hung a Christmas stocking on their hearth for Angi and that was just who they were. Aunt Wanie always made sure everyone in Fort Worth had a present under the tree. Their Christmas parties were legendary and a testimonial of how many friends they had. I love the fact I can look out at my back yard and see Altheas, Wisterias, Monkey Grass, etc. from THEIR yard. They loved their time in the yard. Frank and I loved sitting on their back porch listening to Uncle Dennis and Aunt Wanie tell us all the different kind of birds in Uncle Dennis's homemade bird feeders. They would not let Frank and I go home empty handed after a visit weather it be plants, a bird feeder or maybe some apricot pies. I never left without telling both I loved them. Frank said he will always cherish his fishing trip memories with Uncle Dennis and coming home after catching the big one to Aunt Wanie's home cooked meal. Aunt Wanie and Uncle Dennis always shared our special family events, because we were family. I think about them so often and always will. I was so lucky. Miss them, loved them so much.
