Dear Ann,
Robert and I send our deepest condolences to you and to your family. Bill lived a full and useful life. He certainly "gave service" to others in so many ways. What a loss to you but he deserves a great celebration for a life well lived.

Dear Mrs. Belury,
Words are inadequate to express the love I have for you and Fr. Belury. The friendship you both developed with the members of St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church Parish will long be cherished. Your contributions to our Thanksgiving Baskets program, the joy Fr. Belury expressed through the gift of his stole to Carlye Hughes upon her ordination and your gift to the YWCA in my name are a testament to his thoughtfullness. He will indeed be missed by those who loved him. May God bless and keep you in his care. We all loved him but God loved him best.

Bill Belury was a treasure in the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth. His love of God, his love of God's creation, his courage in facing down bullies and his steadfast dedication to his ordination vows was an inspiration to more people than he ever knew. Ann, please know you are surrounded by love and prayer. We all will miss Bill for a long long time.

Father Belury was such a kind man and caring priest. He was a teacher and a friend. His sermons were full of guidance and support for us to use throughout our lives. He was a priest you could talk to about anything and he would make you feel better no matter what you had done. He was a man and a priest. Not just a priest. When you called him Father you meant it. I know God saved him a special place in heaven-near the choir of course! I am truly sorry for your loss.

Dear Ann,
Let me add my own word of gratitude for having shared the ministry with Bill--one of the most faithful priests I know. The legacy of his service in Middletown remains with us to this day, as St. Luke's Home bears tangible witness. But even more, with you Bill loved deeply and you both are greatly loved by those of us who know you. Thank you for sharing him with us during those years.

Bill was such a special priest and loving person. My work with him at St. Paul's leaves me with fond memories, and it was such a pleasure to watch his and Ann's family grow along with my children! My love, peace, and condolences go to all the Belurys.

My grandfather was also survived by a great grandchild too. Moshe was born on May 30. He was planning on meeting his great grandfather in July of this year. We miss Grandpa so much already. I have only wonderful things to tell my son about his great grandfather.

To Ann and the Belury Family:
It was my privilege to serve Fr. B as his Organist and Choirmaster for the final 9 years of his tenure at St. John's Fort Worth. He was great priest, a loving pastor, and a patient mentor. In his funeral sermon, he would always say, "In this life, there are only 2 questions that matter: Was I loved? and Did I give love? Being able to answer affirmative to these, we can give thanks for this life and release it now into the hands of Almighty God." In Fr. B's case, it is a resounding AFFIRMATIVE to those questions. Thank you, God, for the rare gift of your servant William. Rest eternal grant unto him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him.

To Ann and the entire Belury family,
I just received a communication from the Bishop of Connecticut sharing about Fr. Bill's death. Please know my prayers are with each of you at this time.
The Good News is that his ministry and witness lives on through you and so many others like myself who were touched by his life and ministry.
Our paths have not crossed much since my leaving Middletown, The 4 years of ministry I had with Fr. Bill and being among your family during that time directly influenced my life and ministry.
His life truly lives on to our own comfort, and, welfare and peace for countless others.

He was a wonderful priest and a caring pastor. Fr Bill and Ann were always so kind to me. I will remember him at the altar and be in prayer for his family.
