William Roland Newton, Jr.

Austin, Texas - William Roland Newton, Jr. (Will) of Austin passed away on September 16, 2021. He was born on September 24, 1963 in Fort Worth to Rosemary Stewart Newton and William Roland Newton. He graduated from Trinity Valley High School in Fort Worth and St. Edward's University in Austin. Will was an avid outdoorsman, grill master, Boy Scout leader, and Longhorn fan. He was loved by all for his charismatic personality, sense of humor, and gentle nature. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children: William Roland Newton III (Chap), Ava Rose Newton, Emma Ellis, Maddie Ellis; his wife Beth Ellis Newton; siblings Marilou Newton Salmon and Stewart Newton; nieces, nephews, and extended family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3003 Northland Drive, Austin, TX 78757.

Will and I served together in the Comptroller's office under Comptroller Rylander. He was a natural and will be missed.
