To the Emery Family:

I am very sorry to hear about the late Prof. A.W. Emery. Had I known, I would have replied sooner. I was one of his students in Allied Medicine 601 at The Ohio State University which was a course about grievance and loss. While some of the movies he had showed were very emotional, He definitely had a sense of humor during a time of grief. He also showed us two of the organizations (Kobacker House Riverside Hospital and Schoedinger Funeral Home) which he had very close contacts and long term relationships. Both of these organizations really made somebody like me in their young adulthood think long term about final expenses. They also appeared very passionate and had their line of work down to a science as well as how they chose their careers. Professor Emery and I had a lot in common having worked in Illinois as well as other high client contact services.

so loved working with Al at AHEC. Am so sorry to learn of your loss . . . what a great guy. I remember his work to put together a red Chinese gift box . . . he was so excited about creating such a special gift. That is the piece I remember most about Al - his drive to make life better for others.
