Archellus Bell Obituary

Bell District Elder Archellus Bell, I, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017 while at home with his loving wife by his side. Born May 15, 1933 in Dayton, OH to the late Marcellus and Glennell (Cartwright) Bell. Preceded in death by son Todd Anthony Bell, sons-in-law Clarence Jacocks, II, and William Garland. Survived by devoted wife of 67 years, Monaray Addeen (Richie) Bell; children, Archellus, II (Reva), Durham, NC, Debra E. Jacocks, Columbus, OH, Darrell S. Sr. (Jewel), Columbus, OH, Karen Y. Garland, Pittsburgh, PA, Sean D. (Gerri), Columbus, OH; and Karla Y. Wize, Dayton, OH; sister, Grace (Virgil) Southall, West Chester, OH; brother, Freddie (Vera) Bell, Greensboro, NC; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one special cousin, Allen Randolph; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Archellus was educated in the Dayton Public School System and graduated from the Ohio Police Academy. Pastor of Bethlehem Apostolic Church for 28 years, Chief of Police at Central State University, Director of Safety at the Universtity of Wilberforce and Central State University and Head of HUD for the City of Middletown. Funeral service Sunday 5 p.m., Grace Apostolic Church, 1743 E. Lakeview Ave., Bishop James W. Gaiters, Sr. officiating, where the family will receive friends 4 p.m. until the time of service.
