BAKER Benson Hough Baker, age 86, October 10, 2007, at the Kobacker House. Retired Assistant Vice-President, State Automobile Insurance Companies. Colonel, Field Artillery, United States Army Reserves (retired). Preceded in death by parents Barney and Billie Baker and wife of 55 years, Betty Jane Willis Baker of Lancaster. Survived by daughter, Christina Lynne Baker and beloved friends, Murphy and Hollyberry; brother-in-law, Robert Willis; sisters-in-law, Peggy Willis and Margaret Ann Wills, all of Lancaster; nieces, nephews and cousins. Director Emeritus, Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus; member of: Press Club of Ohio and 30 years as a cast member in the Gridiron Show; Agonis Club; Old North High Club, class of 1938; OSU Alumni Association, Class of 1942; Association of the U.S. Army; Reserve Officers Association of the U.S.; The Retired Officers Association; and the American Legion. Veteran of WWII. Served in the European Theater. Decorations include the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and the Meritorious Service Medal. Ben was a true Buckeye fan, so wear your scarlet and gray when you come for visitation at the SOUTHWICK-GOOD & FORTKAMP FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High Street, Friday 3-7 p.m., where a Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. Pastor David Juve officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus, 115 S.
