Bill was a dear friend of My Honey & I for many years, and we tried to keep up with Him as he moved. Bill and his Honey and Us were there to start the fan club of Phil Dirt and the Dozer's some 36 years ago. I lost my Honey 2 1/2 years ago and still think about Bill often. God needed a great dancer on His team. A friend forever, George

I first met Bill in 1989 at the Jitterbug Cafe. I was the disc jockey, and
Bill was forming a dance group called the sock hop club. At the
time they were testing disc jockeys and it was Bill who fought to keep
me as the DJ for the sock hop club. I continued with the company
for 9 years thanks to Bill. In fact the whole experience really changed my life in a good way. He was a great guy whom I always looked up to.

There just aren't any fancy words to express the love I felt for you..the youngest of us 5 kids.Watching you grow into a fun-loving teen and then to a hard working man whose whole life revolved around his kids was a joy.Watching you coach their ball games and dress up like Indians for Indian Guides...and later dance classes and acting classes...always for the kids. They were your reason for living.I hope they remember the happy times and how much you loved them. You had many jobs....painter,dance instructor,Time share sales..but the job you took most seriously was raising your kids.Thank you for painting our big house and for all the donations of clothes and toys to the poor.Did I ever say thank you?Thank you for being my little brother .I will miss you and look forward to seeing you again in Our Father's House in heaven with Mom.Love you Bilty Boy....your big sister,Barbie

We first met Bill at "Bow Ties" with the Phil Dirt & The Dozers band. We formed their fan club over thirty years ago. We went to Vegas to see Bill, and tried to keep him in our lives. Bill will always be in our hearts. To this day we still see him dance. Love from George & Peg

When I came to live for a summer with my Dad (Harold Richards) and his second wife Rhea (Bill's Mom) I had the great experience to have Bill as a brother. We were the same age, and often liked but never fought over the same girls. (We usually came to some agreement: "Ok, you get her, and I'll take the other one.") Bill played the drums and I play guitar. So we taught each other the others' part on Wipe Out by the Surfaris in 1963; I learned the drum riff and taught Bill the guitar melody. We thought we were really "Cool!"
So, rock on, Billy boy. And tell our Dad, Harold, a joke or two, for me. God bless you!

Wow - Thank you for posting the pictures. I have remembered that 57 chevy since I was a boy! Greg, I remember driving to baseball games in it and your dad using the sound system to scare the crap out of people! He was a fun guy. When I think of him I think of him smiling and having a great time. I will pray for you all but know that you will see him again but for now he will smile down and watch his grandchildren grow up. Love to all of you! I'm so sorry for your loss!

Happy with his 57 Chevy...

Bill held a very special place in the hearts of many people here in Columbus. We met him when we first started dancing at the Jitterbug cafe. He taught line dance and swing classes there.Bill was an awesome teacher ! He was outgoing and fun loving and enjoyed dancing so much.. He had a special way with people that always made them feel like part of his family. His sense of humor made everyone smile and Bill and Chaz could even cause a little trouble sometimes with putting my birthday cake under the cold air vent which caused the candles to erupt while I was being taken on an excursion to visit a candy machine. The surprise was they had the fire extinguisher out and ready to put out my cake! Bill thought it was so funny because he got to be a part of it. We had some great times dancing with Bill. They are the good memories we hold onto when life gets rough. We love you Bill and we will miss you.But this is not goodbye...it's I'll see you later! And when we get to heaven we expect you to have some good music playing so we can dance once more !
