Bonnie Buttler Obituary
BUTTLER Bonnie J. Buttler, 69, of New Straitsville, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the OSU Medical Center, Columbus. Born February 20, 1937 in New Straitsville, the daughter of the late Clayton and Hazel (Ward) Rush and paternal father Kermit Thomas. She attended New Straitsville High School and worked parttime at Columbus Jack Corp. and Ward's Restaurant in New Straitsville. She served on the New Straitsville Village Council and Cemetery Board. She was a very dedicated member of the New Straitsville Lions Club since 1993. She was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She was a OSU Buckeye football fan. She enjoyed the NFL and NASCAR Racing. Survived by four sons, Darrel L. (Bonnie) Dexter of Galloway, Terrance A. (Jeanette) Dexter of Gnadenhutten, William (Judy) Tootle of Lancaster and Randy (Sharon) Tootle of Reynoldsburg; seven grandchildren, Jordan Tootle of Grove City, who had made her home with her grandparents for 13 years, Christina (Pernell) Parsley of Columbus, Taylor N. Dexter of Gnadenhutten, Terrance A. (Dana) Dexter Jr. of New Philadelphia, Dustin C. Dexter of Gnadenhutten and Nicholas Tootle of Lancaster, Darrell (Carrie) Dexter of Columbus; six great-grandchildren; a very special ex-daughter-in-law, Candy J. Dexter of Columbus; uncles, Robert L. (Deri) Ward of Houston, TX, Richard (Oletha) Rider of Carlsbad, NM, and Floyd Coursey of Mesick, MI; aunt, Freeda (Leotis) Lawhorn of Mansfield; several cousins and many dear and close friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Buttler on March 26, 2003, son Robin L. Buttler, grandmother Coral (Ward) Pettit, aunts Eva Thomas and Mildred Coursey, uncles George Ward and Walter Thomas. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2006 at the J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 118 W. Walnut St., Shawnee, with Pastor Leotis Lawhorn officiating. Interment New Straitsville Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and anytime Sunday at the funeral home.
