Burl Root Obituary

ROOT Burl Richard Root, 79, Millersport, went to be with his Lord Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Lanfair Care Center, Lancaster, Ohio. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Bob Kemmerer of Lancaster, Joyce and Jim Klamfoth of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Jason and Sarah Hale, Grant and Ginny Linn Kemmerer and James and Joey Klamfoth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Bob Taylor of Baltimore, Jean and Bob Azbell of Lancaster and Sherry Logue of Baltimore, Ray and JoAnn Logue of Pickerington; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, Edward and Elizabeth Root, his devoted wife of 47 years Pat, his eldest daughter Judi Hale, his sister and brother-in-law, Kenny and Anna Mary Lynch of Millersport and brother-in-law Jim Logue of Baltimore, preceded him in death. Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. The Reverend Alice Wolfe will preside over the funeral service. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. The daughters suggest contributions be made to Fairfield County 4-H Endowment Fund in care of OSU Extension, 831 College Avenue, Suite D, Lancaster, Ohio in Burl's memory.

Jan and Joyce, sorry to hear about Burl but his suffering is now over.Have many fond memories of all of you and the times spent there.

To the man who taught me everything about Firefighting. Burl was my first Chief at the Thurston Walnut Fire Department. I will always remember the great times we had! I will miss him greatly. My prayer's are with the family during the difficult time.
