Mauger Carol Jean Mauger, age 85, of Powell, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Dublin Retirement Village. Born in Monaca, PA to the late Oliver and Caroline Weigle, Carol was a graduate of Monaca High School. Carol and her husband Gene moved to Central Ohio in 1950 and she retired from The Ohio State University where she held various positions. Her last position was that of Fiscal Officer for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Carol was quite active in Welcome Wagon, the Triseria Social Club and Grace Lutheran Church in Westerville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dr. Bill Weigle and her infant son Eugene Donald Mauger, Jr. Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Eugene Donald Mauger, Sr.; her children, Robin (Michael) Sutton of Lamont, IL and Dr. Thomas (Carol) Mauger of Powell; her grandchildren, Joscelyn (Mark) Smith of Des Moines, IA, Nathaniel Mauger of Columbus, Amelia Mauger of Denver, CO and Valerie Mauger of Columbus; her great-grandchildren, Carter, Cooper and Charlotte Smith; her brother, James Weigle of Hollywood, FL; and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. SATURDAY, MAY 9, 2015 at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065, (614)-792-1471, where a Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Larry Brown, officiating. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 1/4 mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial contributions to: The Ohio State University, Department of Ophthalmology Research and Education Fund, 915 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43212, in Carol's memory.
