Carol Jean Tucker

TUCKER Carol Jean Tucker, age 70, of Worthington the past 30 years, departed this life peacefully at home, Sunday, July 30, 2006 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 22, 1935 in Chicago, IL, she was preceded in death by her father Frank Young. Survived by her mother, Neoma Young. She is survived by her daughter, Storm (Mike) of Columbus; grandchildren, Kevin and Kelly; and son, Steve (Barb) of Dublin; grandchildren, Amanda, Elizabeth, and Lauren (Maggie); brothers and sisters, Shirley Levens (Jack), John Young (Donna), Sally Benchak (Bruce), Frank Young (Marie), Bruce Young (Mary Ann), Linda Ferdinand, and Susan Stalley (Vic); numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. While living in Worthington she worked for J.C. Penney Casualty Insurance Company in Westerville, Community Mutual Insurance in Worthington, Harding Hospital in Worthington, OSU Medical Center and Sunrise of Worthington. Carol was a member of the Griswold Senior Center. Family will receive friends Friday, August 4, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington. Funeral Service will be 8 p.m. Friday. Cremation will follow the service. Carol is loved and missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, it was Carol's wish that memorial contributions be made to either VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 2760 Airport Drive, Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43219 or The International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Suite 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607 in her memory. The family would like to sincerely thank all those who helped honor Carol's wishes; especially friends, Dr. William Hicks (The James), Dr. Dennis Bauman (OSU) and Carol's professional team from VistaCare Hospice.
