Casey Belcher Obituary

BELCHER Casey Cochran Belcher, of Columbus, died at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville on September 6, 2007, after a life-long struggle with illness and disability. He was born at the old St. Ann's on Brayden Road 51 years ago. Casey graduated from North High School and attended Columbus State. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and looked forward to each football season. He also loved to fish and attend the Chill hockey games. Giving of himself when he was able, he was happiest when working at Pathseekers. Casey is survived by his mother, Alice Beverly Cochran Cox; his sister, Cathy (Steven) Shomber of Mount Gilead; three nephews, Jeremy (Tiffany) Shomber, Chris (Danielle) Belcher, and Seby Shomber; two nieces, Sara Shomber and Maddy Belcher; aunt and uncle, Norma Jean and Francis Bishop and children; half-sister, Vicki Ulry; three step-brothers, Charlie, Bill and Doug Cox; and loyal friend, J. Spradlin. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Frank and Nellie Cochran of Mount Gilead, brother and sister-in-law Tim and Betsy Belcher, step-father Dana W. Cox, M.D. and father James L. Belcher. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, at the Harmony Chapel United Methodist Church, 3994 County Road 20, Mount Gilead, Ohio. Pastor Roger Dempsey will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. The family requests that flowers not be sent. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Morrow County Animal Shelter, 195 South Main Street, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338. Arrangements were entrusted to SNYDER FUNERAL HOMES of Mount Gilead. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com. There are no words to express how much I will miss my dear friend. There are too many memories to mention here. My heart is only one of those with a large part missing now.
