David Combs Obituary

COMBS David C. Combs. A funeral service, celebrating the life of David C. Combs, 49, of Reynoldsburg, will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of The HOSKINSON FUNERAL HOME, Kirkersville, with Pastor Chip Heim as celebrant. Burial will follow in Waldo Cemetery. David passed away Sunday evening, November 28, 2010 in Zusman Community Hospice, Bexley, following a 6 year struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 20, 1961 in Columbus, the son of the late Shirley Ballinger. He was a graduate of Columbus Central HS, served honorably in the US Army and had worked in Telecommunications for over 20 years. He enjoyed camping, video games, model trains and spending time with his children. He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Melissa, whom he married on July 29, 2000; his children, Brandon Lowe Combs, Mekenna Benner Combs and Mallorie Combs; his step-children, Regina Evans, Buck, Bob and Beverly Williams; his siblings, Ora Lynn Combs, Ramona Dewhurst, and Robert (Karen) Ballinger; in-laws, Sharron and Terry Oder of Reynoldsburg; and numerous grandchildren, including Mason and Bailey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his nephew Brent Combs. His family will receive friends on Thursday, from 12Noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 East Main St. (US Rt 40) in Kirkersville, where on-line guest register and video tributes to David are available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorials be directed to the Combs family fund C/O any local Heartland Bank. Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, is honored to care for the Combs family.
