David Reo Obituary

Reo, David
David Andrew Reo, age 75, surrounded by family, passed away after a brief hospital stay on May 18, 2018, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. He was born in Canton, Ohio, and was a graduate of Canton McKinley High school. Early in his career, he was a manager of McDonald's restaurants; and he later worked for the Nickles Bakery in Navarre, Ohio, for 27 years, retiring in 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jenilyn (Carli) Reo, his parents Andrew and Frances (Winski) Reo and his sisters Helen Reo, Margaret Reo, Mary Brown, Patricia Reo, and his brother Michael Reo. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric S. and Kelly (Henry) Reo of Columbus, OH, and their two children, Savina and Luca; and son and daughter-in-law, Brian A. and Julie (Allen) Reo of Durham, NC, and their three children, Carli, Lewis, and Tanner. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Frances A. (Robert) Truax of Navarre; and a beloved extended family including sister-in law, Barbara (Carli) Antram; sister-in-law, Nancy (Carli) Schwan and husband, Kenneth; and brother-in-law, Richard Carli and wife, Pam; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dave was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canton and the Dante Alighieri Society of Alliance, OH, and a volunteer at the Heart to Heart food pantry in Grandview, OH. Known lovingly as 'Nonno' by his grandchildren, Dave spent many happy years raising his family in Canton in a beautiful community of friends where he was generous with his support and care and was an avid swimmer and racquetball player. He relocated to Columbus in 2006 after his wife passed away to be closer to his family, where he was welcomed by a loving network of new friends and neighbors. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 25, in St. Peter Catholic Church, 726 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, Ohio 44702 at 10 am with Fr. John E. Sheridan STL as celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home, 1375 Market Ave N., Canton, Ohio 44714. A celebration of Dave's life will be held in Columbus for his Columbus friends in the coming weeks. So, so saddened to just learn of Dave's passing...what a great man, he was more of a father to me than my own. I wish I'd stuck around more to help with the numerous chores he put the boys through, such as cleaning windows and working on cars, I might have learned more. He and Jen were wonderful people and they touched a lot of lives. Eric and Brian, I'm very sorry for your loss. You both were so lucky to have such wonderful parents! RIP Dave, with much love, Alvy

Dave! We here at the Get-Go on W. 5th Avenue will miss you so much. You were definitely our favorite lotto player. Kelly always looked forward to chatting with you and appreciated everything you helped her with while she was pregnant. Rob loved bs-ing with you about politics and other "old man" topics. Thank you so much for making our work days brighter. Love, the Get-Go team
