Upon viewing the guest book today, I was sorry to see that my message of a few days ago was not included. I was a colleague and good friend of Dean's at Battelle for my entire career and considered him an outstanding example of what a research scientist should be. In addition to his technical expertise, he was also a gentle man and a friend to all. I had lunch with him only a week or so before he died and we were planning to play some miniature golf as soon as the course opened. He will be greatly missed by me and his many Battelle colleagues.
I'm wondering if Dean's family has any idea of the variety of technical papers that were published under his name? If the family is interested, go to "Google" on the internet and type in "Google Scholar". When a new screen appears, type in "d.n.williams battelle," and a list of over 200 citations will appear when you hit "enter."

My prayers go out to Pasty and the family. I was in the same department with Dean back in the late 60's and early 70's at Battelle. Dean was a fun guy. He was always trying to get something started. His dry sense of humor kept you on your toes. He will be missed.
