It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Jennifer Joan Dixon announce her sudden passing on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at the age of 71.
Jennifer was born March 31, 1947, in Eugene, Oregon, to Rayma and Elmer Sells. She was one of six children. Jennifer was proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers, Rodney and Tony Sells.
She is survived by three lovely sisters, Karen Spayd, Terry Buhr and Tonya Smith, who reside with their families in Oregon.
Jennifer married in 1988 to Todd Dixon, who died tragically in an industrial accident in 2000 in Albany. Although having no children of her own, Jennifer is survived by 40 nieces and nephews. All were blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from just knowing Jennifer, she was an example of love, generosity and a self-sacrificing spirit.
Jennifer's reputation of integrity to her faith was well known. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1966 and devoted her adult life volunteering time in Christian ministry activity with the Lebanon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Family was focus of Jennifer's life. Affectionately known as "Aunt Jen," she was an emotional and material support to her extended family of nieces and nephews. She was everyone's favorite aunt with a heart of gold. Babysat as needed and always a shoulder to cry on, always someone to share your laughter, always a joy. She enjoyed, reading, working on puzzles, taking care of stray cats, dancing and singing the oldies, especially Elvis Presley and ABBA!
Jennifer's strong Christian faith assured her of the hope of the resurrection; she looked forward to the time when all those in God's memory will be reunited with their loved ones. She would want all to think of the blessing of family and friends, pause and love those who are in our lives now and be grateful for the gift of life we share with one another.
There will be a memorial for Jennifer on June 9 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 150 8th Street, Lebanon, OR 97355.
