Edward Hedrick III Obituary
Born on December 11, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, Edward spent his childhood in both Portsmouth and Grove City. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1987. He then attended the University of Cincinnati to study Social Work and became a brother of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. A proud graduate of Shawnee State University, he had a career in retail and operations in Columbus before following his entrepreneurial spirit to start his own dog walking business.
A passionate sports fan, Edward especially loved cheering on his Chicago Bears and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Edward had a deep appreciation for a wide variety of music and art. His love for animals and nature was evident in the care he showed for pets and his appreciation of the outdoors, particularly the water.
Edward is survived by his mother Sandra Kay Dettwiller Hedrick, his father Edward A. (Margaret) Hedrick Jr., his sister Claire Hedrick (Daniel) Adams, his niece Sarah and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He will also be dearly missed by many friends from all parts of his life including those from college, fantasy football, golf leagues and by special friends James Burns, Pamela McVicker, and Allison Thomas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary of the Annunciation, 515 5th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m. A gathering will follow immediately at the church. Interment will take place at Garvin Cemetery, 642 Diehlman Branch Road, McDermott, Ohio, following the church gathering.
Those who wish to honor Edward's memory are encouraged to donate to their favorite animal charity in his name.
In remembrance of Edward Albert Hedrick III, we ask that you hold close these words: Always be kind, always be patient. Always love and always care. No matter who you are, we are all human beings-deserving of happiness, acceptance and above all, love.

I remember Ed from high school at Northwest, seemed to be a kind decent quiet individual and feel so sorry for his family during this time of grief.
