Lewis Elizabeth Lea Lewis, 88, of Tecumseh Island, Indian Lake, OH, passed away Thursday morning, May 26, 2016 at her home. Lea was born on July 2, 1927 in Bellevue, PA to the late John Webster and Aradine Lutz Erbach. On August 20, 1948 she married William Hobart "Bill" Lewis in Newport, KY, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2015. She was also preceded in death by a grandson Timothy Lewis. She is survived by three children, Leslie Christine Zajic, William Webster (Karen) Lewis and Sharon Lea (John) Shultz, of Indian Lake, OH; seven grandchildren, William W. (Jonelle) Lewis, Jr., Trenton ( Kayli) Lewis, Shah Liam Zajic, Erin (John) Brite, John Shultz, David (Heather) Shultz, and Holly (Rich) Linton; 16 great grandchildren, Owen Zajic, Ellie, Jack, Will and Connor Brite, Brooke-Lynn, Jade-Lynn, McKensee, William "Brody" Lewis, Audriena Lynn Smith, Caroline, Henry, Spencer and Catherine Linton, and Jack and Max Shultz; one sister-in-law, Jenny Caroline (Richard) Ebner of Springfield and Indian Lake; and several nieces and nephews. Lea received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University, and studied at Ohio Northern University, University of Cincinnati, Wittenberg University and University of Utah. She taught art in Logan County Schools for 8 years, Sandusky Public Schools for 4 years and was the owner of Drift Inn Studio, Lakeview, OH, for 10 years. Lea was a well-known artist throughout Logan County and surrounding communities and studied nationally with many well-known artists and received many awards in Juried Shows both locally and nationally. Lea was a member of the Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH. She was a past president of the Logan County Art League and Western Ohio Watercolor Society, a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Delta Phi Delta art honorary, Lima Area Water Color Society, Ohio Water Color Society, AAUW Paint and Draw Group, Riverside Art Center, The Art Club, Art Space Lima, Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors, Springfield Art Museum and was active with the Landmark Preservation For Holland Theater since its beginning in 1997. Reverends Jim Ellington and Forrest Amidon will begin funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Indian Lake Community Church, 120 Orchard Island Road, Russells Point, OH 43348. Visitation is Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at SHOFFSTALL FUNERAL HOME, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, OH, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery, Huntsville, OH. Memorial contributions may be given in Mrs. Lewis's name to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care or Logan Acres Community Foundation.
