I am a high school classmate of Eric's Minerva High School '68. Even then he had a dry sense of humor, but was a kind and caring person. To his family, may God keep you with wonderful memories that will linger long after he has passed. With sincere sympathy.

Knowing Eric from our time together at Chemical Abstracts Service, I found him to be witty, kind, caring, and a vibrant soul. He will be missed.

To Eric's family --
The world has lost a kind and gentle man, whose wit was matched only by his desire for excellence. Both of these qualities served Eric well in his successful career at CAS. Even as he fought his illness, he still had time to encourage others, and he never lost his positive outlook. Our loss means he has passed on to his reunion with his beloved Louise, and this brings comfort to those of us who will miss him. May God's peace surround and uphold you in these days and may your many good memories carry you beyond your grief to a place of peace.
Sincerely,
Fred Glasser -- CAS colleague

Eric was an "old spirit." His wondrous wit and wisdom brought out an understanding of life that few ever achieve. Eric and Louise were always a delight to be with, and I am sure they are now entertaining the angels, not to mention each other. I can see the smiles on their faces.

It's never easy to lose someone so dear. It really make the heart feel empty. I know that God has a purpose, and His purpose hasn't changed. God is happy and loving, thus when we hurt, He hurts as well. God created us to live and enjoy life, not suffer, feel pain, or lose such dear ones. With this knowledge, I hold dear to my heart the hope that God will soon make this earth in to a paradise, and we will see our love one again on earth in paradise. I pray that God fulfill His purpose soon, for there is only so much a heart can take.
