Francis Walp Obituary

WALP Major Francis L. Walp, 77, of Grove City, passed away November 1, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Louise (Bodapevek) Walp. Francis is survived by his loving wife, Rita Walp; daughter, Tressa Lawler; sons, Lonnie (Cindy) Walp, Nick (Susan) Walp, Shane (Faith) Walp; grandchildren, Jared and Jason Lawler, Tara (Joshua) Stump, Shanna (Daniel) Draper, Lonnie Walp, Nicholas, Jack, Douglas and Ivy Walp. Francis is also survived by his brother, Harry; and sisters, Florence, Marjorie and Jane. Francis was retired from the United States Air Force where he served during World War II, the Korean War flying B26's and Vietnam flying C130's. He was a scout master and loved baking cakes as a hobby. Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2006 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. Pastor Steve Rodgers will be officiating. Messages of condolence may be left at www.NewcomerFamily.com

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr Walp was a very good and funny person. I always enjoyed his stories. One sweet day we will all be together to exchange stories once again. May God be with you and your family.
