To the family of Fred Simon,

I knew Fred for a very long time, ever since our days at Acquinas High School.
We followed each others careers closely and I considered Fred to be one of the finest and most honest politicians I ever knew. My wife and I both felt he was a real gentleman and his smile will be long remembered.

Sincerely,
Tom and Marge Enright

Peggy & Girls. I write this with a heavy heart but with fond memories. Memories of what we called "Cops & Robbers" on Saturday nights when Fred was Safety Director. Memories of us in your kitchen baking cookies and Yvonne's home made fudge. So many memories going through my head during this sad time. Fred's friends were together with God at the Golden Gate waiting with open arms. My prayers and love go out to all of you.

Peggy
It was not more than a week’s time that I greeted both of you at the early Sunday Mass at St. Tim. I want to tell how deep is our sorrow for the loss of our beloved friend Fred whose brilliance and great heart helped many people and group of people outside his usual realm. I do remember the first time I met Fred when I was a member of Simco Realty and beyond. As a member of that great group I will always remember the good old days.

Our heartfelt condolence and prayers is with you and your entire family and may God have sweet mercy on his soul and provide strength and patience to his loved ones

I have known Uncle Fred since I was a child - I always thought that we were related because he was at every family event. My fondest memory is when I was about 4 or 5 years old -- he took a dollar out of his pocket, folded it into a bird, and gave it to me. Believe it or not, I still have it. Since I was a kid, he left a lasting impression on me that was renewed every time I saw his smiling face - such a fun-spirited, kind, loving individual. I will miss him a lot. My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Peggy and the Simon family.

Lauren & Family,
Your dad put the "gentle" in the word "gentleman". . .A warm, generous man, he was both loved and respected. May we all learn from his excellent example of loving God, family and community. May Our Lady of Consolation spread her mantle over you at this difficult time.

Uncle Fred, as all us Grandkids (to Charles "Pop" Simon and Marion "Gram" Simon called him, was a great man. From what I remember he was a kind, gentle and funny guy who enjoyed hard work and family. I remember going to see him in his offices and watching him work and also watching him and Steve Polis and them playing poker at Pop and Grams on Wednesday nights, rooting for a Simon to win big. My last memory of Uncle Fred was at pop's funeral 2 years ago telling jokes about their antics back at Aquinas. I am sure Uncle Fred is resting peacefully. He will be missed.

I have such fond memories of this gentle giant of a man. A laugh that was infectious, but then you also knew when he was unhappy with you. Kind thoughts, prayers and best wishes to Peg and daughters. "Mr. Simon" was my father's attorney, but moreover, he was a close friend and neighbor. Lori, it has been years since we have seen each other. I am so sorry for the loss of your father.

Peg, please know that mom (Margaret) sends her best.
