George Ratcliff Obituary

RATCLIFF George R. Ratcliff, 91, of Columbus, passed away April 11, 2012. Born March 2,1921 in Chillicothe, OH, son of Orland and Mabel Ratcliff. After serving in the Army's 257th Ordinance Co. in Europe in WWII, George operated Ratcliff Motors in Chillicothe, and was in sales for Winder and Bobby Layman Chevrolet. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by wife, Charlene Hedges Ratcliff; daughters, Mary Beth (Bob) Fais, of Dublin, Amy (Larry) Maisel and Patricia (Pablo) Scolnik, both of NC; sister-in-law, Betty (Lee) Barnes; grandchildren, Trapper, Laura, Stephanie, Connor, Collier; and great-grandson, Jack. He was preceded in death by brother Harry, sisters Mary Ann Rouck and Dede Grimes. George was active in Walnut St. Methodist Church, Chillicothe and Northwest Methodist, Columbus. Family service will be private. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations made to HomeReach Hospice. Arrangements by O. R. WOODYARD CO.

George was one of the most respected people I have ever met! Just a wonderful roll model that certainly influenced me. My prayers for Charlene and family. Heaven will roll out the red carpet for Mr. Ratcliff..God's Speed!
