Gerald Beekman Obituary

BEEKMAN Gerald Arthur (Dean) Beekman, 78, of Mt. Sterling, wonderful Husband, Dad, and Grandpa, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at his home. He was born January 26, 1928 in Clinton County, Oh. to the late John Eyler and Lizzie Mae Beekman. Mr. Beekman worked at General Motors for 38 years, retired in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Member of the American Legion Post #888. Preceded in death by his brother Darrel Beekman and 2 sisters Helen Moats and Dorothy Bayes. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Irene (Clark) Beekman of 56 years; son, Dean Edward (Sue) Beekman; daughter, Karen Sue Erskine; granddaughter, Cindy Humphrey; grandsons, Shawn Dean (Jennifer) Erskine, Tyler Lee Erskine; great-granddaughters, Zarah Erskine and Tiara Erskine; many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the PORTER FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dortha Ross officiating with the burial following in Bloomingburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2006 from 2-8 p.m. Family suggest memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Home Health Hospice, 212 N. Main St., London, Oh. 43140.
