Harold Carl Meier

Meier Harold Carl "Hal" Meier, of Upper Arlington, died April 1, 2013 at Westminster-Thurber Health Care Center. Born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 21, 1928, Hal graduated from Hamilton High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946- 1951 in Japan and Korea. He returned to Ohio and attended The Ohio State University. As an undergraduate he majored in speech and philosophy. He also attended their law school and received combined B.A. and J.D. degrees in 1954. Hal practiced law in Columbus for over 50 years principally at Thompson, Meier, Dersom from 1978 until his retirement in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Kindness); and sons, William (Karen) of Columbus, Jonathan (Randy) of Seattle; daughter, Barbara (David) of Providence, R.I.; and seven grandchildren, Pamela, Jennifer, Benjamin, Gabriel, Samuel, Cassidy, and Eliot; two great-grandchildren, Rose and Bobby; sister, Florence Jackson of Loveland, CO; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Hal was a member of Triangle Lodge No 748 F&AM and a 32nd degree Mason at Aladdin Temple. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed serving as an usher. He was a dedicated Ohio State fan and long-time football season ticket holder. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger RD., where a Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Rev.
