To My Grandmother, whom I kept in touch with througout my entire lifetime. I will miss sharing spring with you each year, but as my gardens bloom so will my memory of our letters and cards. You will always be in my thoughts and memories; your picture resides on my mantel and I will continue to see you each day.
Much Love and admiration to a grandmother who deserved so much better and more than she was received in her 93 years.

October 26, 2006 - Daniel becoming a Marine

To my grandmother:
A couple of weeks ago I stopped by to visit my mom (Anna) and she told me about a conversation that you both had earlier that day, (the last day that you were able to speak). She told me about how you both laughed and remembered a time when Daniel was only about 3 years old and how he was playing cars on your kitchen floor. How you were teasing him and thought he was such an adorable little boy. That same night, my mom told me that she wanted to mail you a picture of Daniel in his Marine uniform when he graduates from boot camp. Well, we will not be able to mail you his picture but you can look down from heaven and see him at Parris Island. He is still that adorable little boy. We are sorry that we are not able to make the funeral but due to family health issues, in which you are aware of, we are unable to make the trip.
Thank you grandma for giving me your dumpling recipe, we just had them on Christmas day and my mom still says that they taste like home. I am attaching a picture of Daniel taking his oath.

Blessings to all the Martin family in your loss. Praying that God would help you all through this difficult time. Kenny, God has visited you and spoken to you in a personal way. Don't let that slip from you. Sam and Jill, may God stir to your remembrance many treasured times with Grandma.
