Hugh W. Nelson

Nelson Hugh W. Nelson passed away March 6, 2014. He was born May 16, 1928 to Josephine Lilly Nelson and Charles S. Nelson. He grew up in Upper Arlington with his brother Roger, and graduated high school in 1946. He graduated from OSU Commerce College in 1950. Following service in the US Naval Air Corp, Hugh earned his law degree from OSU. Most of his law career was spent in Worker's Comp and OSHA. He was an entrepreneur and spent time teaching at Capital and Franklin Universities, as a small business owner, and as a property manager. Hugh had two sons who survive him, Charles (Sherry) and Joseph (Becky). He had five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and many great grand children. He modeled hard work and taught us the difference between a "good job and a pretty good job". He loved singing, especially Italian and Irish songs. He enjoyed bowling, classic movies, and his dog Romeo. Dad spent his last days at The Forum at Knightsbridge Memory Care. He was comfortable, supported and loved. Thanks to the care givers there and at both Odyssey and Tridia Hospice. Mike you gave us a gift and became Dad's friend and our brother. Dad accepted Christ as his savior late in life. He rests in our Lords arms, with a new body and a new mind. Pop, you are forever in our hearts... until we meet again. There will be a memorial service for family at a later date.
